President - Rick Baker


As President and Owner of NetCom, Inc., Mr. Baker is responsible for all aspects of the company. His responsibilities include business development, financial and management decisions, as well as operations and facilities oversight.

A life-long resident of St. Louis, Missouri, Baker started his career in 1984 as an alarm technician for Wells Fargo Alarm Services. After three years of installation, Baker moved into the Service Department providing on-site customer service for the McDonnell Douglas Corporation.

In 1994, Baker accepted a position as a Technician for GTE and worked for three years doing major cable installations, advancing to Lead Technician. In 1997, Baker accepted a position at NetCom Inc. as supervisor over the Operations Department.

During his time as Operations Supervisor for NetCom, Inc., Mr. Baker also quickly began building a client base and contributed to the rapid growth of the company. In 2001, NetCom, Inc. was recognized as a member of the “Fast 50” list of technology companies from the Regional Commerce and Growth Association.

In 2003, Baker was promoted to General Manager and became a 50% of owner of NetCom, Inc. In 2008 Baker assumed full ownership.

History

1989 – Working out of an office in Ellisville, NetCom set out to provide integrated cabling solutions for the LAN and WAN computing environment.

1997 – NetCom moves its headquarters to Fenton, Missouri and doubled the square footage it occupied.

2001 – NetCom, Inc. is awarded the RCGA’s FAST 50 – Naming NetCom as one of the fastest growing IT companies in the St Louis Area.

2004 – NetCom, Inc. becomes signatory in the IBEW Local #1 Communications Division. By joining the IBEW, NetCom further expands its business into the new construction markets.

2006 – In response to customer needs, NetCom becomes signatory with IBEW Local #1 Electrical Division, allowing customers to sole-source all of the communication needs.

2007 – NetCom branches into the audio visual market offering installation of white boards, projectors and video conferencing.

Today, NetCom, Inc. has been servicing the communications cabling needs of various business environments, including healthcare, manufacturing, retail, commercial and education markets for more than 20 years.
